Women's Networking Event
The future of The Ladies' College and its role in supporting women, business and island life in general will be raised at a special event on Wednesday 23rd September.
The women-only event from 5.30-7.30pm at the Rotunda at i2 Office in Royal Avenue, is aimed at college alumni and businesswomen.
Principal Ashley Clancy and Dame Mary Perkins, a Governor of the College, will speak on the College's views and aims and update on the fundraising campaign for a major redevelopment.
'This event is intended to be wider than simply raising money,' said Jo Huxtable from Deloitte, one of the organisers. 'We want to link women with a common interest in supporting The Ladies' College for girls' education. It will be an informal event, but on the other hand there is a serious intention to raise the importance of girls' education alongside the profile and standing of the school in Guernsey. This is important for parents and prospective parents but additionally its reputation and physical condition is also relevant, in my experience, to how Guernsey presents itself to outsiders, particularly those we are looking to attract to move to Guernsey.'
