Living and working in Guernsey
If you are considering a move to Guernsey and wish to join our team, you will find that life on the island offers an exceptional combination of natural beauty, community spirit, and outstanding quality of life.
Guernsey's gentle climate, picturesque coastline, and wealth of opportunities to engage with the sea—whether swimming, sailing, or simply relaxing by the water—make it an extraordinary place to call home. Beyond the island's stunning landscapes, residents benefit from high standards of healthcare, low crime rates, attractive tax arrangements, and a diverse range of cafés and restaurants with stunning sea views.
Families especially appreciate the safe, supportive community environment where children enjoy a sense of freedom and independence rarely found elsewhere. Living and working in Guernsey is an opportunity to experience a lifestyle envied by many and enjoyed by few.

Gaining residency
Many of the roles (for example almost all teaching roles) will usually come with a local licence which allows you to live in local market property.
The size and make-up of Guernsey's Population is regulated by the Population Management Law. The Law is designed to make sure that the island has the right mix of people supporting our economy and community now and also for the future.
The College is required to apply for either a Short-Term Employment Permit (STEP), duration up to 1 year or a Long-Term Employment Permit (LTEP), duration up to 8 years, on behalf of employees who are not locally qualified residents. The permits associated with all of our roles are included in the job description for each position advertised.
