BA Hons with QTS (Canterbury)
Tom joined Melrose in September 2015 having relocated to Guernsey from the UK. He was born in Canterbury, Kent and educated there up to age of 13 where he left to attend Worth School in West Sussex.
Upon leaving school Tom spent the next 4 years singing as a choral scholar at Portsmouth and Chelmsford Cathedral. He then returned to Canterbury to take up a teaching degree at Canterbury Christ Church University. During his studies and into teaching he was able to combine his work with singing at Canterbury Cathedral.
Tom has always had a keen interest in ICT and enjoyed learning the subject at school during a time of great development in the technology world. At his previous school in Canterbury, St Christopher’s, he took on the role of ICT coordinator and was responsible for implementing the new National Curriculum for ICT. He hopes to continue to pass on his enthusiasm for ICT to the girls at Melrose.
