Mrs Gribbens - Head of Maths

BSc (Hons) QTS UWE, Bristol

Mrs Gribbens has a long association with The Ladies’ College having been a student here in the 1980s and 90s. After teaching in London for 6 years she returned to Guernsey and to teach at College in 2004. Mrs Gribbens enjoys helping students of all abilities find a love of Mathematics. She would like to dispel the myth that there exists such a thing as a ‘maths brain’, instead believing that everyone can do Maths with the right building blocks.

Mrs Ledger

BSc (Hons) York, PGCE 

After graduation Ms Ledger worked for 5 years as a Medical Physicist for the NHS before returning to University to study for her PGCE in Mathematics education. She now has over 20 years' experience of teaching Maths to students of all ages and abilities. She gets satisfaction from seeing pupils engage with the subject and tries to inspire them to enjoy the challenge of problem solving.

Mrs Rabey

MA Cantab, PGCE

After gaining her maths degree, Mrs Rabey worked in the local Civil Service. She then spent several years as a full-time mum, after which she studied on island with the Open University to gain her PGCE in 1997. Mrs Rabey was a student at The Ladies’ College in the 70s/80s and returned to teach in 1998. She has enjoyed the privilege of being able to teach for over twenty years at College, helping and motivating students to achieve their potential in maths.

Mrs Chamberlain

BA (Hons) University of Winchester, NPQML, QTS

Mrs Chamberlain was educated in Guernsey before studying for a degree in Primary Education with Mathematics at Winchester University. After teaching in Primary schools for three years she moved into Secondary school to teach mathematics. Mrs Chamberlain is passionate about creating a culture of deep understanding, confidence, and competence which shapes assured, happy and resilient mathematicians who relish the challenge of mathematics.
