At the beginning of the Summer a number of our students embarked on a printmaking workshop, to be run over 5 weekends with Janice Earley a local printmaker. On Saturday 10th October, The Ladies' College hosted the final session where GCSE students in Upper Five were offered the opportunity to come and learn the process of Lino printing with Janice and observe her specialised techniques and skills. The workshop was very rewarding and we are looking to repeat this in 2016.
Honor Brooksbank (Upper Five): 'This was my first time Lino Printing, I found Janice very inspirational and I really enjoyed learning a new technique which I am developing into my GCSE coursework'.
Emily Oliver (Upper Five): 'This was my final workshop with Janice, after completing 4 workshops previously. I really enjoyed all aspect of lino printing, successfully achieving a 3 cut reduction prints, which have turned out brilliantly. All the help Janice provided was very useful, looking through her amazing portfolio inspired my work and this will now be part of my Unit 1 GCSE coursework.'
