On Friday 6 November Melrose went 'wild' to raise money for the Toilet Twinning Charity (see http://www.toilettwinning.org/ for more information) by dressing up as their favourite animals. The School Council organised the event and managed to raise their target of £240 to enable Melrose’s facilities to be 'twinned' with a toilet in a disadvantaged country. After a Council meeting last year the Councillors shared their plans with the school, before writing to parents this term to put their plan into action. The 'Wear it Wild' day was a huge success and great fun for everybody, including the teachers! The School Council were incredibly pleased with the response and proud that they had helped spread the message of how fortunate pupils are at Melrose to have access to modern toilet facilities in comparison to many children in other parts of the world.
