The first week back after half term has been incredibly busy for Pre-Prep. On Tuesday we individually made and of course had to taste our pancakes, which were very yummy with our choice of toppings. We met the Lieutenant Governor and Lady Corder on Wednesday who visited the school, and joined us whilst we were preparing and playing games with a new group of children in preparation for Forest School fire safety on Friday, as the weather was so terrible, rain stopped cooking! On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day, and we all dressed up in pyjamas and had 'bedtime stories' in secret dens which were built over the course of the morning, and then in the afternoon we were very lucky to welcome back one of our ex-teachers who retired from Melrose a few years ago, Mrs Megs Bailey who now, writes and illustrates her own books. Mrs Bailey introduced us to her seagulls, Percy, Pip and Polly and read us their first adventure, we loved hearing about the funny Guernsey seagulls. To round up a super exciting week on Friday we continued with Forest schools, and did natural printing in the garden, whilst all having a turn to cook toast and marshmallows on the fire. Pre-Prep also celebrated 2 very special birthdays this week too!! What an eventful and fun filled week.
