This year’s spring concert was a huge success demonstrating the hard work and abilities of the girls performing music by Bach, Beatles and beyond.
Groups performing included junior motet, senior motet, junior choir, junior strings, senior strings, junior wind band, jazz band, quartet and a range of solos from Remove to Upper Six. We were also treated to a beautiful duet by Rosie and Louise in Upper Five as well as two songs by the band '7 Ways' from their recent competition in the Battle of the Bands. Marie-Claire demonstrated her abilities on the piano with an impressive performance by Rachmaninov and Maisie demonstrated her abilities on the flute having successfully gained a place at Trinity Laban this September. Student leadership is important to the work in the music department and Sophie conducted the junior string orchestra as a culmination of the work that she undertakes with them each week.
As is tradition we wished the Upper Six musicians good luck in their forthcoming exams and thanked them for their contribution in co-curricular music over the past 7 years.
Huge congratulations to all who performed. You should be very proud of your efforts and we look forward to more music making.
