Biology, Chemistry and Physics are popular subjects at The Ladies’ College, where there has been a long tradition of naming laboratories after notable scientists. Our Biology laboratory is named after Charles Darwin, our Chemistry laboratory is named after Rosalind Franklin and, following a recent student vote to identify the name for our new dry Physics laboratory, this has been named after Dame Susan Jocelyn Bell Burnell, who we are delighted will visit the College and formally open the laboratory on Monday 21st January.
We are thrilled to have a key modern day scientist visit us at College and to provide an opportunity for pupils at students at The Ladies’ College, Elizabeth College and the Grammar School to hear her give a series of talks, culminating at the Sixth Forms in Partnership Principals’ Lecture held at The Ladies’ College for the Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth students at The Ladies’ College and Elizabeth College.
