What a great time was had by all those lucky enough to get to watch the sell-out performances of our Strictly event at College this weekend. Six couples competed for the glitter ball prize as well as performances from our “professional” dancers, the students who showed off their skills. We also welcomed Lyndsey Kendall and her team of salsa dancers who were very successful in getting the audience to participate in a “salsa-fest” at the end of the evening. The event was put together by a dedicated team from all areas of the College, including premises, the office and the Core, in addition to staff from Melrose and the Senior School. The winners on Friday night were Dr Vanessa Mitchell and Mr Peter Fotheringham. On Saturday the winners were Mrs Sarah Morris and Mr Tom Lewis from Melrose, who went on to be the overall Strictly Come College Dancing champions. It was deemed a great success by all involved and all the dancers were “fabulous darling” in spite of the judges’ comments! The funds raised from ticket sales, the raffle and refreshments, which exceed £2,000, will jointly go towards Comic Relief and the College’s A Gift for Learning fund. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
