Students at The Ladies’ College have once again achieved impressive results for this year’s GCSE examinations.
This is the first year group with no special place holders. We are delighted with the progress each of our pupils has made and the strong value added by the College. 51 students sat their GCSE examinations, achieving excellent results. An impressive 43 % of all grades were Grades 8 or 9, 66% 7-9 (A*/A) and 97% of results were within the 4-9 (A*-C) range.
The girls showcased the breadth of their talents, with a quarter of the students achieving the equivalent to all A* and A grades (7-9). 98% of students achieved at least a grade 4 in Maths with a similar 98% in English. Over 96% of students got the equivalent of 5A*-C including English and Mathematics.
Daniele Harford-Fox, Principal at The Ladies’ College, said: ‘I’m incredibly impressed by what the girls have accomplished and the dedication they’ve shown in their preparation.
‘GCSEs can often feel like an overwhelming barrage of facts and exam techniques, but that’s not the case at College. Our students are developing their own voices, their drive, and their independent study skills while fully embracing the innovative teaching methods of our brilliant teachers. The things that makes me most proud are not the individual grades but the progress each girl makes.
Daniele added: ‘Today marks a day of celebration and transition. I am thrilled for the girls to return in September as the inaugural cohort for our new parallel curriculum, Pathways. While GCSEs and A-levels remain invaluable, I am delighted that we also have the opportunity for students to collaborate with our partners to develop broader skills. These skills will not only support their academic studies but also empower them in our rapidly changing world.’
