We are very proud to announce our production of Les Misérables, which will be performed at the PRCPA on Tuesday 28th, Thursday 29th, and Friday 30th January 2025 at 19:00.
This powerful show follows the journey of Jean Val Jean - convict, turned mayor, turned revolutionary - embodying themes of bravery, hope, and the human spirit. Our talented cast, featuring students from The Ladies' College, Elizabeth College, Les Varendes, and the College of Further Education, brings this timeless story to life with their singing, acting, and dancing skills. Les Mis celebrates its 40th year on the West End this year, as well as holding a very special place in the hearts of islanders, the original novel having been written here in 1862.
Set during the June Uprisings in Paris 1832, the narrative weaves through rebellion, law, love, and the cunning schemes of some of Paris' street life, showcasing people at their worst and best. Hugo's characters beautifully capture what it means to be human - in love, war, and survival.
Accompanied by a live orchestra composed of current students, alumni, and professionals with ties to the college, expect show-stopping performances of classics like “One More Day” and “Do you Hear the People Sing.”
We warmly invite you to what promises to be a very special production.
