Top tips for English

1. Love for Literature – reading, reading, reading!
2. Discussion and debate – don’t be afraid to contribute to discussion; the more opinions, the greater the depth of analysis!
3. Be creative – allow your imagination to flourish!
4. Proofreading
5. Technical accuracy
6. Expand vocabulary and use a thesaurus
7. Write frequently, perhaps on a blog
8. Choose a good pen and always use joined up handwriting; NEVER print.
9. Include lots of literary devices in your writing eg metaphor, simile, adjectives.
10. Visit the school and town libraries regularly to borrow books.
