The IT Department manages the College’s computer systems and enables girls to gain the Microsoft Office Specialist certificate by the end of Upper Four (Year 9). We think it is important that our girls have the necessary skills and tools to be able to use IT at the point of need and become autonomous learners.
In Key Stage 4 students have the option to choose the new Digital Enterprise course where they can follow digital pathways that interests them and supports their other options. Students will have the opportunity to gain Adobe Associate status that will support potential web developers, digital animators, video producers, graphic designers, and digital artists.
Students in Lower Sixth (Year 12) also have the opportunity to sit Microsoft and Adobe professional qualifications to bolster their cv’s.
The E-learning co-ordinator is ably assisted by two IT technicians who keep the network going as well as providing support to staff and students.
The College maintains its own web portal which provides many of the learning resources used in class.
A campus wide wireless network enables students to use their own portable devices in lessons.
