Business Studies and Economics
“It's not just about money! It encompasses so much of our everyday life.”
Economics is often considered to be a subject, which helps to put other academic subjects into a real world context. Scientists, artists, linguists and medical practitioners all operate in an economic context and doing this subject enables a student to look at the wider issues involved in their economic , political and social lives.
Business tends to be more practical in that it examines strategies success in all types of organisation and is a valuable A-level because most students will be working as employers, managers or employees at some time in the future and this subject gives a good insight into what is required to be successful in those roles.
We offer both Business Studies and Economics at AS and A level. Classes may be taught at either or both schools depending on the option block.
